Frequently asked questions

Answers about sending money from Canada and Australia with Ororemit Inc.: countries, verification, payments, rates and fees, refunds, safety and complaints.

Service

Which countries can I send from and to?

You can send from Canada and Australia to Bangladesh, the Philippines and the United Kingdom. We're adding more countries over time.

How does my recipient get the money?

Straight into their bank account or mobile wallet, whichever you choose when you set up the transfer.

Do I need to visit a branch?

No. OroRemit is fully online. You can sign up and send money from the app on your phone, whenever it suits you.

How do I track a transfer?

Open the OroRemit app and go to your transfers. Each transfer has a reference number and shows its current status.

Verification

What do I need to send my first transfer?

A valid government photo ID, a quick selfie so we can match you to your ID, and your recipient's bank or mobile wallet details.

Why do you need to verify my identity?

The law requires money transfer companies in Canada and Australia to know who their customers are. It also stops someone else from using your name to send money.

My verification did not go through. What now?

Check that the name you entered matches your ID exactly, your ID hasn't expired, and the whole document is clear in the photo. If it still doesn't work, contact us through the app and we'll take a look.

Payments

How can I pay for a transfer?

From a bank account or a supported debit card in your country of residence. The options available to you are shown during checkout once your corridor and amount are selected.

Is there a limit on how much I can send?

Yes. Your limit depends on how far you've verified your account and on the rules in your country. You'll see your limit in the app before you confirm a transfer.

Can I cancel a transfer after sending it?

Only if it hasn't been paid out yet. Contact us as soon as possible with your transfer reference number and we'll try to stop it. Once the money has been paid out, it can't be reversed.

Rates & fees

How much does a transfer cost?

You pay a low transfer fee, and you'll see it along with the exchange rate before you confirm. You'll also see exactly how much we're sending, so there are no surprises.

Are the rates on this website live?

No, the rates on our website are a guide only. Rates change during the day, and the exact rate for your transfer is shown in the app before you confirm.

Do you add a margin to the exchange rate?

Our pricing is in the rate and the fee you are shown. We do not add undisclosed charges on top of the quoted figures.

Refunds

Can I get a refund?

Yes, if your transfer hasn't been paid out to your recipient yet. The refund goes back to the account you paid from. Our Refund Policy has the full details.

How long does a refund take?

We start your refund within 3 business days once we've cancelled the transfer. After that, how long it takes to reach you depends on your bank. We'll let you know when it's been sent.

Safety

Is Ororemit Inc. registered?
