Most of us have sent money home at some point, and we know how frustrating it can be. We started OroRemit to make it easier for people in Canada and Australia.
Who we are
OroRemit is a money transfer app. If you live in Canada or Australia and support family back home, you can send them money from your phone in a few minutes.
Why we started
Sending money abroad shouldn't be this hard. But rates get quietly marked up, fees show up after you've paid, and nobody can tell you when the money will actually arrive. It's usually the people with the least to spare who end up paying for it.
So we built OroRemit to be upfront. Before you send anything, you see the rate, our fee and exactly how much we're sending. No surprises later.
How we do things
- You see the full cost before you hit send.
- Our fees are low, and we show them clearly. The rate is right there too.
- We check every customer and every transfer properly. It takes a minute, but it helps avoid delays later.
- If something goes wrong, our support team will look into your transfer and let you know what's happening.
How your money gets there
- In Canada, you pay by Interac e-Transfer.
- Your family gets the money in their bank account or mobile wallet.
- You can check the status of your transfer in the app.
Registered and regulated
We're a registered money services business in both Canada and Australia. That means we have to know who our customers are and keep an eye on every transfer, and we take that seriously.
What's next
Right now you can send from Canada and Australia to Bangladesh, the Philippines and the UK. More countries are coming. We'd rather take our time and add a country properly, with good payout options and real support there, than rush it.
